GO Day is an online provision for gifted students, using the New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education curriculum.
GO Day lessons are engaging and varied, with a range of options to ensure students can work at on challenging and interesting tasks in each lesson.
GO Day lessons are designed to increase the breadth, depth, sophistication and complexity of gifted students' knowledge and abilities, and to increase students' self-directedness of their learning.
The curriculum covers six content and process strands:
- conceptual development
- personal development
- talent development
- research development
- complex thinking development
- communication development
Each GO Day lesson takes approximately 5-6 hours to complete, which can be completed in one day or across the week. GO Day consists of the online lesson, an online meeting each week with other GO students, and time to complete the suggested activities.
Most GO Day work can be completed in an online portfolio that we provide. GO Day teachers provide feedback on learning each week through this portfolio.
